About Tenors of Rock
The Tenors of Rock are the newest most exciting vocal group around. Formed with five of the best male rock voices in the UK. The concept was to reinvent the standard male vocal group and create a seriously high profile rock experience. The vocal range and harmonic complexity really pushes new boundaries and sets TOR apart from all other vocal groups.
The music and current set list of Tenors of Rock is truly diverse. The group use their unique and innovative sound to put their own twist on songs you know and love, including classic rock tracks such as Sweet Child O’ Mine and God Gave Rock N’ Roll To You. It is a truly unique experience to hear these songs sung like you have never heard them before. 2013 might seem unlucky for some but for Tenors of Rock it’s been nothing but a charm.
The supercharged six piece had already made waves in late 2012, playing more main stage shows than any other band and performing to over 150,000 in the prestigious Hyde Park for the London Olympics, on a bill that included Tom Jones, Mcfly, and Snow Patrol.
The burly Brits kicked off the new year with a sell-out 20 date UK tour, and found just enough time to drop in to the Millennium Stadium, in the heart of Cardiff for a half time shows at the RBS Six Nations and Judgement Day rugby tournament to an incredible 60,000, prompting Undefeated World Boxing Champion Joe Calzaghe to announce “They sing how I fight!” Still only March and the lads released their debut single, a cover of the Dire Straits classic “Brothers In Arms” which entered the European Rock Charts as the 3rd highest new entry behind Paramore and Fallout Boy, and sat comfortably in the top 25 just behind Bon Jovi’s “Because We Can”. ‘Brothers in Arms’ was released in conjunction with the Welsh Rugby Union’ Six Nations Campaign – in which Wales were crowned champions the day before the release of the single!!
Europe called, and the summer saw over 15 countries successfully rocked, as the screaming sextet made their way through Italy, Austria, Poland, Turkey, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Russia, Sweden to name a few!!
A busy schedule of UK summer festivals included an epic double header, playing main stage sets to over 75,000 Harley Davidson enthusiasts at the European Bike Week. Ending the year, TOR were watched by over 10 million people over several weekends as they stormed in to the final 7 groups of the primetime TV talent show “The X Factor”, where they received huge public support and high praise. None higher than former PussyCat Doll Nicole Scherzinger who dropped the memorable soundbite “I love men singing their balls off!”
Following X Factor the boys jetted off to Las Vegas to play three incredible shows at the Palms, Stratosphere, and the legendary LVH where ‘The King – Elvis Presley’ had a run of over 850 shows.
Having now played to nearly half a million people in the UK alone, TOR are set for a huge and busy future!
